A series of objects was initially conceived, as a formal progress from using laser-cut structures as reliefs to constructing three-dimensional forms. From the starting idea of doing spheres they evolved into eggs. Eggs are in this case seen as a mysterious objects: As the title might suggest, they are the Eggs of a Phoenix - metaphor “Rising like a phoenix from the Ashes” meaning “to become successful again after seeming to have failed completely” felt fitting to my intentions. It relates to transformation, progress, hope of some sort. The forms - either eggs, or empty eggshell are constructed through whimsical and folk ornaments, also echoing the easter eggs I traditionally make when visiting home for easter. The structures are combined with the ashes, brought from home - from the furnace in the house of my parents, which puts it even closer in relation to my personal biography.
